Aromatic Qualities

A cooling top sometimes middle note, the scent of Geranium essential oil is soft, rosy, herbaceous and citrusy. Extracted from the leaves, stalks and flowers of the popular house plant, it soothes and balances skin. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is considered nourishing to the Yin.

Properties

Geranium essential oil is anti-fungal and antibacterial; a treatment for fungal infections, athlete’s foot and eczema. Geranium nourishes and rejuvenates the skin, soothes nerves and skin irritations, calms inflammation, reduces swelling and calms the heart and mind (TCM). As for the emotional aspect, therapeutic grade, Geranium essential oil eases anxiety, restlessness, nervousness, and fear of communication. Geranium supports the mind through life’s stages and to grow acceptance. Combine Geranium oil with Lavender to aid in open communication.

How to Use

Diffuse with any citrus oil to uplift and encourage. Blend with resin oils such as Frankincense or myrrh to soothe long term skin irritation. Geranium essential oil blends well with bergamot, Lavender, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, native Australian oils or woody scents. A vital ingredient in homemade creams, oils, shampoos and hair rinses. Geranium increases skin elasticity, supports graceful ageing and healthy hair.
