Native to India, the Santalum album tree is under legal restriction. The native Australian Sandalwood is the Santalum spicatum, with very similar scent and therapeutic qualities; it is grown using an ecologically conscious manner. We are honoured to stock this oil and support responsible, homegrown industry.

Aromatic Qualities

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Sandalwood essential oil is associated with the Yuan or source Qi. It is a grounding, rich, woody, but cooling base note, used for the Heart and Kidney meridians. It has been used for thousands for years during meditation and to find one’s centre. 


Properties

Calms the mind, nourishes the heart, promotes balance, meditation, understanding and acceptance. 


Use & Blending

Combines well with Clove and Cinnamon oil as an aphrodisiac in men and alone, can be applied to the skin to treat skin irritation, carried in an oil or cream base. It blends well with Bergamot, Cinnamon, Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Lemon, ginger, Lime, Neroli, Patchouli, Rose, Kunzea and Vetiver.

Generally safe when diffused or used with a base on skin.
